That is exactly why we build this 3ft (92cm) square wooden trestle table to the same strict commercial specs as our largest banqueting tables. It is a massive favourite for UK hotels, restaurants, and event hire companies who need modular seating that takes a proper beating day after day.
We use a single piece of 19.5mm exterior-grade plywood for the top, which is the thickest you can get on the market. Four coats of clear varnish protect the top face from spilled drinks, while two coats underneath stop dampness from creeping into the wood during storage. The entire edge is sealed with a thick black PVC rubber bumper strip, so the corners won't splinter if the table gets knocked against doorframes or dropped during transport.
The black powder-coated steel wishbone legs rely on an industrial-strength locking mechanism to stay completely rigid. Because we use a bolt-through construction with flush rivets, the tabletop stays completely flat, meaning your table linens won't catch and your glasses won't wobble. When you're done, the legs fold entirely flat into the underside frame for simple, effortless stacking.
